Our Terms of Business
The terms of business set out below are the terms and conditions on which Core Protection Ltd will transact business and/or otherwise act for clients. Any instructions received from you will be deemed to constitute acceptance and agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions unless we have specifically agreed otherwise in writing.
How We Calculate Our Charges
We will either agree a fixed fee with you at the outset, where possible, or will charge a variable fee calculated mainly by reference to the time spent dealing with the matter on your behalf and the expenses that we will incur. Where the matter will be charged on a time expended basis you will be provided with a best estimate of the time required to complete the works whenever this is feasible.
In assessing what we charge we take into account a number of important factors, including what steps we will need to undertake to complete the work, the nature and complexity of the task, the skills and knowledge required, the number and importance of documents and files perused or prepared, the amount or value of any money or property involved, the jurisdiction and the circumstances of the matter, where the work needs to be undertaken, and the importance and urgency of the matter.
Any estimate that may be given will be a probable fee based on our experience of the work you have asked us to do. If the work transpires to be more complex than originally anticipated, or is going to take us longer to complete, then we may need to increase our estimate to take account of these factors. We will inform you as soon as possible if this occurs.
Details of our current rates will be advised to you separately. However, if you would like confirmation please do not hesitate to contact us. You may set a limit on the charges and expenses to be incurred. This means that you must pay our charges up to the agreed limit without our needing to refer back to you, but we will not exceed the limit without first obtaining your consent.
We may also undertake work at discounted rates by prior agreement where the volume of work is large, or you instruct us on a regular basis, making our services even more cost effective for you.
We undertake a review of our charges on an annual basis. Details of any revision of our rates while we are working on a matter on your behalf will be supplied to you.
Future Instructions
Unless we agree otherwise and subject to our current hourly rates, these Terms of Business will apply to any future instructions that you are kind enough to give us.
Payment Terms
Dependent upon the work being undertaken for you, we may ask for a payment to be made to us on account. We will render our invoices promptly, either at the end of the matter or shall deliver bills to you at intervals during the conduct of the works. In the event of a payment not being made to us, we must reserve the right to decline to undertake any further work and at that point the full amount due for the work done up to that date and any expenses incurred or committed to will be charged to you.
Accounts are due on receipt and must be settled within 30 days of being rendered. Interest will be calculated on any amount outstanding after this time either at the same rate as the official rate for judgement debts or the rate under The Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, whichever is the greater amount. Any monies that we may be holding on your behalf will be used in satisfaction or partial satisfaction of any outstanding unpaid bills.
We can accept payment of our invoices by BACS, cheque, cash, Visa, MasterCard, Switch, Delta, Solo or Visa Electron.

Unless we agree otherwise in writing, all copyright in works of original authorship we produce (such as presentations, training notes, and reports) is reserved to us.
